Position:     Experienced Auditor
Reports to:     Mike McNichols, Audit Partner

Duties and Responsibilities:
We currently would like to fill a full- or part-time position on our audit staff. Read below for details and application process.

We are looking for an individual with a CPA certification and 3 to 5 years of audit experience with a public accounting firm. Candidates must have ability to effectively supervise audit, fraud detection/deterrence engagements and other consulting engagements. Good candidates must also value teamwork and a good work environment as much as efficiency and productivity.

We have a diverse clientele of small business owners, trade associations and non-profit organizations. We have no state or local government audits. The majority of our audit clients are located in Central Iowa.  The position offers great advancement potential as well as opportunities for lifetime learning. And from our new lakefront office in West Des Moines, it requires little travel outside of the metro.

Through our affiliation with CPAmerica, we offer many of the advantages of a national CPA firm (industry experts, national training courses, etc.) with the advantages of local ownership and management.  Salary and benefits will be based on the individual's experience. We have been historically very progressive with our compensation and benefit package.

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years of public accounting experience
• CPA certification or candidate

Position:     Staff Accountant - Tax Department
Reports to:     McGowen, Hurst, Clark & Smith

Duties and Responsibilities:
Recently voted the 1st place winner in the medium sized company division of the Best Places to Work in Central Iowa contest, McGowen, Hurst, Clark, and Smith has an opening in our Tax department. The individual in this position will be responsible for a variety of duties including tax return preparation, compilations and reviews, assistance with business valuations, and depreciation schedules. We offer a competitive salary, great benefits and an outstanding working environment.

Qualifications:
Preferred candidate will be a CPA with experience in the field, however, accounting majors will be considered as well. Individual must be personable and enjoy a hard working, fun environment with plenty of room for advancement. Strong computer skills are a must.
